Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composer House Trust Prelude residency (2021)

In 2021 I lived for 3 months at the historic Collingrove Homestead, Angaston, in the heart of South Australia's Barossa Valley.

Collingrove Homestead was the home of the Angas family, one of the most significant families in South Australia's recent history. At one point one third of all the land of South Australia was operated from this homestead, and it was great to meet with descendents of the Angas family who still live locally to get to know the house and the history of South Australia better. The house had many old and historic artefacts, including a magnificent piano and chamber organ.

This Prelude residency was made possible by the Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composer House Trust and the South Australian National Trust.

Work created from this residency included;

Destructive Interference

Impulses and Invention

Of Paradise Lost
